The book describes the current ecological state of the irrigated lands of Azerbaijan, the causes of tension and deterioration of their ecological state. The book, dedicated to the restoration of gray-meadow soils of the Shirvan plain, used for intensive irrigation of agricultural crops typical for the Kura-Araz lowland, is based on long-term comprehensive research carried out by the Ujar Support Center of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS.
The Ujar support center of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan is typical for irrigated gray-meadow soils of the Shirvan plain. The book provides information on the history of the foundation, its natural conditions, soil cover, morphological, physicochemical and biological changes in the soil over a period of about 50 years. Also, the degree of supply of nutrients, salinization, the process of re-salinization, the mechanical composition of the dominant gray-meadow soils in the territory were determined. The technology of growing major crops is shown to help researchers in these areas. The soils in the area have been carefully studied, mapped and assessed, indicating the range of diversity for each species.
Justification of off-farm use of equipment and the functioning of service enterprises in agriculture

In the monograph, the inter-farm use of technology and the functioning of service enterprises in agriculture is presented and investigated as a single technological system. The application of the queuing theory allowed the development of models of interfarm use of equipment substantiate the parameters, optimal placement and models of functioning of agricultural service enterprises, depending on the characteristics of land use; determine the optimal area of service and the number of agricultural service enterprises in the conditions of the republic; to determine the composition and quantity of equipment at service enterprises, taking into account the zonal features of the economic regions of the republic and the production direction of agricultural commodity producers, ensuring effective machine use.
